From Kerala to East London
Field and Bean began with a chance encounter in the lush landscapes of Munnar, Kerala. Roby, a native Keralan with a deep-rooted family tradition in spices and coffee farming, met Helen, a curious traveller from Northern Ireland with a passion for culture and adventure.
They connected instantly-sharing stories and ideas over cups of local coffee in a small cafe.
Where Coffee Meets Culture
Roby brought his deep knowledge of Keralan coffee and sustainable farming practices. Helen brought her experience from East London’s vibrant Broadway Market, where she had lived for years immersed in the local coffee scene.
Together, they had a vision: to bring the bold, authentic flavours of Kerala to the heart of East London.

Field and Bean is a family-run business built on love, tradition, and quality. From selecting the finest beans in Kerala to hand roasting them in small batches, every step of the process is personal.
Their home has become a gathering place – where friends drop by and the smell of freshly brewed coffee fills the air.
